Welcome

Welcome to my blog! If you've found this website, you're probably from my Instagram, so hi guys, welcome back. But if you've never seen my face before, welcome. Please stay because you're awesome, I'm awesome, and we're all friends.

My name is Selene, but you can call me Celaena (See-lay-nah) if you wish. Celaena is my first and middle name put together (Selene + Yelena = Celaena. And yes, I know the spelling between Selene and Celaena is different. It's from a book). I have blogged before, so this isn't my first rodeo. I am a 22-year-old stage actress and college student. I have been acting my whole life, but I didn't get the opportunity to perform consistently until I was 18. That is because I was a dancer growing up, and dancing took up all my free time. I danced ballet, contemporary, jazz, modern and lyrical from ages 5-20. Ballet was my speciality. I was on a competition team in high school, where I won first overall at four National competitions for my ballet solos. I also danced pre-professionally for two years. I danced in professional ballets such as The Nutcracker with the Sacramento Ballet and Snow White with the State Street Ballet of Santa Barbara.

I am currently a Fresno Pacific University student majoring in Theatre Studies (acting). I plan to move to Hollywood one day soon to pursue a career in theatre.

My friends would describe me as passionate and extroverted, and I would describe myself as passionate and introverted. I am also a musical theatre enthusiast (I'm always bursting out into show tunes), a dog mom, a coffee and tea addict, and a nap queen (who isn't addicted to coffee and naps, though)?

I truly live, breathe, bleed and sleep theatre/musicals. I live and die by my acting. I would not have survived college thus far without my extensive love for musicals. I'm not the greatest singer, but I always sing (seriously, ask any IRL friends).

Life is so challenging as a 20-something. You're legal, and everyone has these high expectations for you now that you're about to graduate college. You might feel pressured to have everything "all figured out," and then something unexpected (like COVID-19) comes out of nowhere and knocks you off your feet (been there). With this, I hope to share my experiences as I navigate life as a soon-to-be college grad (nope, it still hasn't sunk in yet).

I decided to get back into blogging because I need a creative outlet and a way to connect to people on a deeper level than just my Instagram. I hope this blog will share my life as someone balancing theatre, college and being a young adult during the crazy world we live in nowadays. Each post of mine will have meaning, and I hope that you will share and see my intention so if you continue reading my posts, you're in for a lot of wise insight coming from someone who doesn't look her age (everyone thinks I'm 15, I'm basically a vampire).

I hope you all will get involved with my blog. It's going to be an experience for all of us. I can't promise that you will agree with all my beliefs and viewpoints, but I hope that if you don't, we can be open-minded and learn to understand each other.

Please engage in my posts by leaving me comments or sharing them on your social media. I am always open to talking, and you can contact me here or through my Instagram.

As always, sending you all the light and love in this world.
